American Association Of Public Health Dentistry - student Chapter

Purpose: The purpose of this Association is to improve the oral health of the public through education and leadership based on the principles of dental public health. The major goals are: 1. To promote and support new and existing education and other programs and policies that are effective in oral disease prevention, health promotion, and the provisional of services. 2. To promote and support education about the importance of oral health and its relation to overall health and well being. 3. To encourage students to pursue further education in public health and other community based programs. 4. To provide educational seminars consisting of guest speakers from various public health organizations in Florida, such as the Indian Health Service, County Public Health Departments, and the National Health Service Corps. 5. To organize service projects involving trips to local nonprofit organizations, schools, nursing homes, homeless shelters, county health fairs, etc.
