Come discover Gregory Bald! This 4,949 ft peak in the middle of the Smoky Mountains features gorgeous 360 views that you won't be losing hair over.

Description

Located near the North Carolina-Tennessee border, Gregory Bald is the place to be for amazing hiking, mountaintop meadow frolicking, and awe-inspiring 360 views. From atop this grassy bald (mountaintop covered with grass instead of trees) you can see Cades Cove, Rich Mountain, the Nantahala and Yellow Creek Mountains, Thunderhead Mountain, and Clingman's Dome...all at once. It's time to get out of Gainesville and experience some of the best scenery the Smoky Mountains have to offer!

Itinerary

Depart Gainesville really early Friday morning (we'll catch the sunrise on the highway) and arrive in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that afternoon. We'll hike in and camp out Friday night, then spend Saturday hiking to Gregory Bald. Saturday night we'll cook a delicious dinner, hang out around the campfire, then wake up bright and early Sunday morning to enjoy the sunrise from the top of the bald! After hiking out we'll hit the road and get back to Gainesville Sunday night.
