Wanna get away? Well now you can! With TRiP's unbeatable deal on an 6 day ski vacation to West Virginia, you can have the experience of a lifetime with all your best of friends. Come along for a week of fun skiing at two different alpine resorts and one day of cross country, and be back in Gainesville just in time for the spring semester!

Description

With a vertical rise of 1,000 feet, you’ll enjoy some of the longest runs in the South (as long as 2 miles). And because their 37 slopes and trails are evenly divided among easiest, intermediate and expert terrain, skiers of all abilities will find plenty of great ways to get to the bottom! This is true of Timberline and Canaan Valley alike!

Dates: Sunday, December 27 (early morning) to Friday, January 1st (late night)
Cost: $600 (UF) / $650 (non-UF)
Seats available: 26

Cost includes:
Lodging: 5 nights of bunkhouse style bedding at Timberline Resort
Transportation: all transport costs (gas, van, etc) are included
Skiing: 2-day lift ticket at Timberline Resort (includes night skiing until 9 pm on select days)
1-day lift ticket at Canaan Valley Resort
1-day of cross country skiing at White Grass Wonderland
Rentals: free ski rentals for the 2 days of skiing at Timberline Resort (snowboard extra)
Rentals will be at own cost at Canaan Valley and White Grass
* Students are free to bring their own equipment
Lesson: one free introductory ski lesson is included
Food: 2 cafeteria-style meals a day while in West Virginia (8 total)
Excursions: a few hiking/sightseeing trips will be organized by the leaders while in WV

Participants should bring:
- all clothing required
- any ski equipment they intend on using

Itinerary

Leave Gainesville very early morning of Sunday the 27th of December and arrive in West Virginia late that night. Enjoy a 3 out of 4 day lift ticket at 2 resorts, with the option to purchase an extra day. Or spend your day off with your lovely leaders on the cross country runs of Whitegrass Cross Country Resort! Leave West Virginia very early Friday morning the 1st of January and return to Gainesville just in time for the weekend!

What to Bring

Warm clothes! Ski Jacket and Pants, ski gloves, warm hat, layers (polypro underwear), thick socks for ski boots(wool), fleece, warm shoes, sunglasses and Sunscreen, sleeping bag, skis or snowboards if you have them, ice skates, and cross country skis. Also additional info will be given at the pre-TRiP meeting. Money for your food while on the road and for one meal a day!

Fees Include

5 nights lodging in a bunkhouse while on the TRiP, transportation, 3 days of lift tickets at 2 different resorts, ski rentals for 2 days(snowboard extra), one free beginner ski lesson, one day of cross country ski admission, 2 meals a day while in West Virginia, TRiP t-shirt, 4 wonderful and enthusiastic TRiP leaders and one of the most fun New Year's you will ever have!
