Hang precariously with only your fingers and toes to support you. Slowly ascend your way up a menacing 50-foot rock face in the steep hills of Alabama. Feel the exhilaration as you reach the top, turn around to see a breath-taking view of the surrounding peaks. Sound like your kind-of weekend? Then come join me for some bomber rock climbing in Sandrock Alabama!
Sandrock is an awesome place to climb for people of all skill levels. We will be camping within walking distance of the rocks, which are covered with great top roping routes and bouldering problems. There are also lots of cool places to hike about, and find awesome views of the valley below. We will pretty much climb routes at whatever level everyone is comfortable with, so there will always be something every climber can handle. It will be a laid back climbing trip, just lots of hanging around and climbing rocks. Come and enjoy a great weekend in Sandrock!
We will leave early Friday morning and arrive at Sandrock in the afternoon, we will do some climbing and perhaps some night climbing before heading back to camp. Saturday we will get up and climb some more! Saturday night we will have a camp fire and cook out. Sunday morning we will watch the sunrise get and get in a few more climbs before heading back to Gainesville Sunday evening.
A sleeping bag and mat, a bowl and spoon, a headlamp if you've got one, and some clothes to wear (if that's your thing). No climbing gear required, but if you've got it, bring it!
All food except for 1/2 meals on the ride home, camping gear, transportation, climbing gear and super efficent climbing guide ninjas!
