Mission and Vision

Mission: The Reitz Union is an integral part of the educational mission of the University of Florida and the Division of Student Life. The Reitz Union creates a safe, enjoyable and welcoming environment and offers experiences that foster a sense of place, belonging and community where students gather, learn and grow.

Vision: As the heart of the university, our vision is to cultivate a dynamic space that fosters exploration, learning, and holistic development.

Board of Managers


The Reitz Union Board of Managers is a university-wide standing committee chaired by a student, with a voting student majority. This presidentially appointed committee is comprised of twelve student members and six faculty members.

History


The concept of a student union at the University of Florida dates to 1922, laying the foundation for what is now the Reitz Union, a modern, multifaceted facility dedicated to student engagement and campus connection.
